Closing the gender gap: Metro hosting female-focused construction networking event Nov. 17

A study from the National Women’s Law Center (NWLC) last year found that more than 97 percent of construction workers on the average crew were male — roughly the same as 30 years ago — despite the fact that women make up 47.2 percent of the workforce. This is a disappointing number and one that Metro hopes to change as more transit-related construction jobs are created.

Metro will be hosting Women Build Metro, a female-focused construction networking event that will provide an opportunity for women interested in construction industry careers and would like to be a part of the team that will build the transportation infrastructure for the future.
