It’s going to be a busy week for Los Angeles sports fans! Here’s what’s coming up, and how you can take Metro to all the sports-ing action.
Wednesday, Oct. 7: the L.A. Kings take on the San Jose Sharks (minus one Raffi Torres) in their home opener. Puck drops at 7:30 p.m. at Staples Center. Take the Red/Purple Line to 7th St/Metro Center and walk a few blocks down Figueroa, or take the Blue/Expo Line to Pico Station for the one block walk to the ice barn.
Thursday, Oct. 8: USC Trojans versus Washington Huskies at the Coliseum with USC trying to avoid honking out to their second straight PAC-12 opponent. The game starts at 6 p.m. and you can take the Expo Line to Expo Park/USC Station. The Silver Line to 37th St/USC may also be an option.
Friday & Saturday, Oct. 9 & 10: Playoffs start for our boys in blue! The Dodgers take on the New York Mets at Dodger Stadium. Games start 6:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. and the Dodger Stadium Express will be running from both Union Station and Harbor Gateway. UPDATE: The Dodgers and Metro are urging everyone to arrive early whether taking the bus to the game or driving. Traffic on L.A. freeways is expected to be tough for both Friday’s and Saturday’s games.
Saturday, Oct. 10: It’s Mexico vs. USA for the CONCACAF Cup at the Rose Bowl. Take the Gold Line to Memorial Park Station, then transfer to the free shuttle for the Rose Bowl.
