Metro and the Pacific Coast Regional Small Business Development Corporation will be hosting a second series of pilot Business Interruption Fund (BIF) workshops for firms in the area of three Metro Rail construction projects — the Crenshaw/LAX Line, Purple Line Extension’s first segment to Wilshire/La Cienega and the Little Tokyo area around the Regional Connector’s work sites.
Workshop participants will learn about the BIF and receive information from program staff about how small “mom and pop” businesses directly impacted by Metro rail construction can apply for the program, which provides some compensation to firms that qualify. Program staff will share information about the application process, provide tips for how to prepare the application and provide information about the financial materials required to demonstrate loss of business revenue directly related to construction of Metro Rail transit projects.
The BIF was authorized by the Metro Board of Directors. Metro BIF workshop locations and hours:
