More rehabilitation work is scheduled for the Metro Blue Line this weekend as crews perform final upgrades to the track crossover between Del Amo and Artesia Station.
Beginning this Friday, Sept. 11 after 9 p.m. through Sunday, Sept 13 close of service, there will be a full closure to both tracks between the two stations. This means all northbound Blue Line trains will stop at Del Amo and return south to Long Beach, and all southbound trains will travel as far as Artesia Station and return north to 7th Street/Metro Center.
Customers requiring service between Artesia and Del Amo will need to board the free Metro bus shuttles labeled “Blue Line Shuttle” in order to do so.
In addition to bus shuttles and vital track work at between Artesia and Del Amo Stations, this weekend’s Blue Line service levels are as follows:
- On Friday, Sept. 11, Blue Line trains will run every 15 minutes between Downtown Long Beach and Del Amo, and every 20 minutes between 7th/Metro and Artesia.
- On Saturday and Sunday, Blue Line trains are scheduled to operate every 15 minutes between Downtown Long Beach and Del Amo, and every 18 minutes between 7th/Metro and Artesia from open to close of service. (Scheduled service changes can also be found on our Service Advisories page.)
- *Also, on Saturday, Metro will run enhanced Expo Line service for customers going to the USC vs. Idaho game. Please be sure to use the entire platform when boarding.
Finally, we realize many of our customers will be impacted by the work and would like to say thank you for your patience as the end result will be a safer and more reliable Metro Blue Line.
