Update, 3:00 p.m.: Repair work on the Metro Red Line’s damaged signal equipment has been halted for the remainder of the day to allow for close-to-normal rush hour service. This afternoon and evening trains will follow the regular schedule, with outbound Red Line trains incurring delays of five to 10 minutes between Vermont/Santa Monica and Hollywood/Vine Station. These minor, outbound delays are predicted to occur as trains travel at reduced speed between the two stations, where repairs are still needed.

Necessary repairs are scheduled to take place tonight after 9 p.m. At that time, the Red Line will run every 20 minutes, with trains sharing the inbound/Union Station-bound track between Hollywood/Western and Vermont/Santa Monica. The Purple Line will follow its regular schedule, serving all stops between Wilshire/Western and Union Station. We expect repairs to wrap up over night. However, Red Line riders should please check back here at The Source or on Twitter @metrolosangeles and @metroLAalerts for the latest updates.
