Now that last weekend’s heat wave is over, it’s time to schedule that bike safety class you’ve been wanting to take all summer. Here are our latest offerings of free safety classes for the upcoming weekend of August 22-23:
Saturday, August 22, 2015
Sunday, August 23, 2015
More details: click here.
The free bicycle safety classes are funded by Metro through a $224,000 grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety. Announced during Bike Week L.A., the grant will fund more than 150 bicycle safety education classes in the region. More than 3,200 county residents of varying urban cycling skills and abilities will be able to take advantage of these free classes.

I’d like to see lapd pass out free white and red headlights to bicyclists. Visibility helps prevent accidents. It also will help lapd get some positive press and be vilified as government sponsored thugs.
I’d also like to see a campaign where every bicyclist in LA is free white front lights and rear red lights. I see so many late night employees riding home dark. I know few bicyclists in the sfv San Fernando valley that died by getting hit by a car. Visibility should help prevent deaths like this.
