Here’s the latest information on Metro’s Green and Gold Line maintenance for the week of August 17 through 23.
Today, Gold Line maintenance work began with trains operating every 15 minutes, sharing one track between Del Mar and Lake Station. The work between Del Mar and Lake is slated to continue through Wednesday, August 19 from 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. On Thursday and Friday, trains will operate every 15 minutes and share one track at Chinatown.
As we’ve mentioned in previous posts, the Gold Line is undergoing repairs to tension wires that were damaged in Pasadena this past April. If the schedule goes as planned, repairs will be complete by the end of this month. Check out the handy chart above to see the progress!
For specific departure times from Pasadena, Union Station or East LA during maintenance schedules, please check the Service Advisories page.
Work to the Metro Green Line Aviation/LAX station that was planned for this weekend has been postponed to next weekend, Aug 29-30.
During the closure free bus shuttles will replace train service between Hawthorne/Lennox and Mariposa. This means all trains traveling westbound from Norwalk will stop at Hawthorne/Lennox and return eastbound. A shuttle train will also be in service for customers wishing to travel between Mariposa and Redondo Beach.
More details on the closure, including where to board bus shuttles and departure times will be posted later in the week. Until then, please follow us on Twitter @metrolosangeles or @metroalerts for real-time service alerts.
