Look for poetry on your next bus ride and may poet Timothy Donnelly’s words let your mind wander with the latest Poetry In Motion/LA™ poster installment. It is the first of six poetry posters scheduled to go up on Metro buses in the coming year.
Timothy’s poem (pictured above) was selected by our collaborator, Poetry Society of America, as part of a Metro Art program that places poetry directly in the path of more than one million Metro bus riders daily.
In addition to placing over 60,000 poetry placards on the interiors of Metro buses, Metro Art annually celebrates National Poetry month in April. In 2015 we hosted ‘Rush Hour Reading’ on April 28 at Union Station East featuring Los Angeles-based poets Luis Javier Rodriguez, Eloise Klein Healy, Kate Gale and Robin Coste Lewis.
