The main entrance to Union Station will be closed the night of July 14 due to renovation work. The closure will take place starting 1 p.m. through 5 a.m. the next morning. Equipment and materials being used for the project will be lifted by a crane placed directly in front of the main station entrance.
During this time, there will be detour signage in place directing pedestrians to alternate entrances. Vehicles entering from Alameda will be diverted south towards the Metropolitan Water District/First5LA buildings. Vehicles entering from Cesar Chavez will be directed in front of the Mosaic Apartments. Please see above map for more details.
On July 15, work will move to the Amtrak Bus Plaza, which will be closed from 3 p.m. through 11 p.m. Detour signing directing pedestrians to alternate entrances will be in place. Amtrak buses will be relocated to the valet parking area. Please see map below for reference.

What is going on with the gold line?
