Metro invites small businesses along project corridors to participate in Metro’s Business Interruption Fund Workshop

Metro will be hosting a pilot Business Interruption Fund (BIF) workshop series for three Metro Rail construction projects areas starting Tuesday, June 30 for the Regional Connector, Crenshaw/LAX Line and Purple Line Extension.

Workshop participants will learn about the BIF and receive information first-hand from program staff about how small “mom and pop” businesses that are directly impacted by Metro Rail construction may qualify and apply for the program. Program staff will share information about the application process, provide tips for how to prepare the application and provide information about the financial materials required to demonstrate loss of business revenue directly related to construction of Metro Rail transit projects.

Authorized by Metro’s Board of Directors to help small “mom and pop” businesses directly impacted by transit rail construction, the BIF is being implemented for three Metro Rail transit projects now under construction: Crenshaw/LAX Line, the Little Tokyo area of the Regional Connector and phase 1 of the Purple Line Extension. The program is being administered in partnership with Pacific Coast Regional Small Business Development Corporation (PCR).
