End your week with Summer at The Music Center

Are you, like my colleague Joseph Lemon, a terrible dancer? Do you look like a newborn baby giraffe every time you try to get down to This Sick Beat™? Well never fear — Summer at The Music Center is providing you with a zero-pressure way to show off your dance moves, whatever they may be, and blow off steam after work every Friday this summer through August 28.

Come out for Dance Downtown, which offers beginner dance lessons, or Bring Your Own Dance Moves (#BYODM) on alternating Fridays to party with local DJs. I recently attended a #BYODM night and I’m pretty sure my rendition of the cabbage patch was well received by everyone.*

The music starts at 7 p.m. although we all know the cool kids don’t turn out until 8 p.m. …which is also when the exclusive Metro discount at Pinot Grill kicks in. Show your valid TAP card to receive a 10% discount on your entire food and drink bill! Their happy hour menu offers tasty small bites and refreshing beverages that can help loosen you up before you hit the dance floor.

To get to The Music Center, hop on the Red or Purple Line to Civic Center/Grand Park Station. There are also various buses that serve the area on Hope Street and Grand Avenue, check the Trip Planner for more routes and connections.

Metro is on TwitterFacebook and Instagram. So is Anna: Twitter / Instagram

*That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

  1. I was just reminded why I hate taking the goldline so much. Not only is it running every 20 minutes due to maintenence we were forced to exit the train because a car started smoking. As usual no communication or back up shuttles to transport passengers. Some things never change.
