Nightly closures on segment of Crenshaw Boulevard for potholing until June 22

UG4 (Vernon Portal) – Pot Holing looking south on Vernon

Metro’s contractor Walsh/Shea Corridor Constructors (WSCC) had begun potholing on Crenshaw Boulevard between Vernon Avenue and 48th Street. Work will take every night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. until Monday, June 22.

A full street closure on Crenshaw Boulevard also is necessary to allow the Department of Water and Power to relocate their utilities in the area and prepare for the upcoming cut and cover work on this segment of the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project alignment.

Metro Bus service in these construction areas will be detouring, and Metro will post bus route information at metro.net/advisories. You can also receive bus service info by calling  (323) GO-METRO between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday to Friday, and 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The 8.5-mile Crenshaw/LAX Line is a $2.058 billion light-rail line that will connect the Green Line and the Expo Line. It will have eight new stations to serve the Crenshaw, Inglewood and LAX communities. It is expected to open in 2019.
