The Los Angeles Design Festival is a city-wide celebration of the individuals and organizations contributing to L.A.’s reputation as a global design center. The closing days of LADF 2015 are this Friday through Sunday, but there are still plenty of great programs to attend, whether “design” to you means beautifully-crafted objects, innovative architecture, urban planning or something else entirely. The majority of events are free!

Speaking of urban planning, much of the festival is easily accessible via Metro Bus or Rail. For the full list of LADF happenings this weekend, click here, or read on for the transit-friendly lineup…

1. Women Can Build: Re-envisioning Rosie. An exhibition of photographs and stories of women who are building America’s 21st-century transportation. Taken in factories across the country; displayed alongside historic photographs of WWII-era “Rosie the Riveter” manufacturing workers.  Open daily through June 18. *Note: The exhibition has extended its run through the end of June. (Metro Red, Purple, Gold or Silver Line to Union Station.)
2. Barnsdall Friday Night Wine Tasting. Unwind and enjoy beautiful Barnsdall Park as the sun sets from the West Lawn of Frank Lloyd Wright’s historic Hollyhock House. Bring a picnic or enjoy food truck fare. The event takes place 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Please note, this is a 21+ event. (Metro Red Line to Vermont/Sunset Station or Rapid 754 or Bus 2, 217 or 206 to Vermont/Sunset.)
3. DaFunction at Vermont Square Library. Join renegade, South-L.A. gardener Ron Finely for a community fun fest including yoga, arts and crafts, gardening, storytelling  and more on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Metro Expo Line to Expo/Vermont Station, then transfer to Rapid 754 for service to Vermont/Vernon. Stop is a 10 minute walk from the library.)
4. L.A. River Series: Riverly Reflections with Mia Lehrer, Carol Armstrong and Deborah Weintraub. The last of a three-part conversation with leading designers who are re-imagining what the L.A. River could be, hosted at locations along the river itself. The event meets Saturday from 2 to 3:30 p.m. (Metro Bus 96 to Riverside/Eads.)
5. Floral Arts at Room and Board Design Studio. Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. (Metro Expo Line to Culver City Station.)
6. Chinatown Design Night + Popup Market. In collaboration with the Chinatown Business Improvement District, Fifth Floor Gallery and Preen, LA Design Festival’s closing Saturday night event is an all-out street party that takes place under the crimson glow of the lanterns of Chung King Road from 6 to 9 p.m. (Metro Gold Line to Chinatown Station.)
