Welcome to Deal of the Week, where we spotlight exclusive discounts to events and eateries that have partnered with Metro’s Destination Discounts program. Take our buses or trains to any participating location and receive special deals, freebies and more–just for being a Metro customer.
This week, EduLife Institute is offering free, hands-only CPR training on Wednesday, June 3, as part of National CPR Awareness Week. Lessons will take less than two minutes, and will be offered at four Metro Rail Stations, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., including: North Hollywood, Universal City/Studio City, Vermont/Sunset and Union Station. Training is intended to equip as many people as possible with a set of skills that could save lives–and you can literally do it during your commute! But, if you need more reason to participate this Wednesday in particular, the event hopes to break the world record for most people to complete CPR training in 24 hours.
If you absolutely can’t make it this Wednesday, you can still learn CPR (in more depth) or take other American Heart Association training classes at the Critical Care Center in North Hollywood. Catch the Metro Red Line to North Hollywood Station and present your valid TAP card at the registration desk to receive $10 off a course. (There’s also a promo code to redeem your discount online or when calling 818-766-1111.)

I did it yesterday at Union Station. Friendly trainers… they basically let people practice chest compression on dummies. Fun and informative enough…
The men and women of the Los Angeles Fire Department salute Metro and EduLife Institute for offering this quick, simple and free opportunity to learn CPR – a skill we can assure you that saves lives!
