Upgrade work continues on the Metro Green Line this weekend where crews will make much needed improvements, such as new paint and other visual enhancements, to El Segundo and Douglas stations.
In order for our crews to complete the work, Mariposa, El Segundo, Douglas and Redondo Beach will be closed starting Saturday, May 16 through Sunday, May 17 close of service. Bus shuttles will replace all rail service west of Aviation/LAX Station. This means all trains traveling westbound will stop at Aviation/LAX and return eastbound towards Norwalk. Normal weekday service will not be affected.
Customers traveling between Aviation/LAX and Redondo Beach will need to board the free Metro bus shuttles labeled “Green Line Shuttle.” Those who transfer to bus shuttles will not need to TAP. Customers transferring from bus shuttles to Aviation/LAX will need to TAP at the fare gates. All Green Line trains will arrive every 15-17 minutes. However, trains may not follow times listed in the regular, posted schedule.
Customers should also note that the Metro Blue Line will undergo rail improvement work this weekend, with bus shuttles replacing Blue Line service between Artesia and Del Amo Station. See the Planned Service Advisories page for details.
We know some may be inconvenienced by this weekend’s work, and Metro would like to thank you for your understanding as the work is essential to Metro’s overall plan to improve rail service.
