Metro currently has five rail lines under construction and also supports numerous highway improvement projects. That means at any given time there are thousands of constructions workers on the job all around Los Angeles County. The safety of these workers is one of Metro’s top priorities . The agency advocates a culture of safety and tries to stop problems before they occur.
There can never really be too much awareness on the importance of being committed to safety, all day every day. That is why Metro will be participating in Safety Week 2015. Metro’s construction relations team will be putting out info every day next week to inspire everyone to share best practices and celebrate the need to be injury free. There will be education on protective equipment, alarms, how to navigate work zones and more — so make sure to check out each project’s Facebook page. This is your chance to learn a little bit about Metro’s construction process and our commitment to keeping our workers safe.
