Bus shuttles replace Green Line between Douglas-Redondo Beach this weekend

Metro will conduct more station refurbishment work on the Green Line this weekend. In order for crews to perform the work, Redondo Beach Station will close Saturday, May 2, and Sunday, May 3.  Free bus shuttles will replace Green Line train service between Douglas and Redondo Beach stations.

This means all westbound trains will stop at Douglas Station and return eastbound towards Norwalk. Normal weekday service will not be affected. The station refurbishment work scheduled for this weekend involves signal system repairs, similar to the work done in previous months. This will allow a smoother transition of trains coming in and out of stations.

Between Norwalk and Douglas stations, Green Line trains will arrive every 15-17 minutes. However, trains will not follow times listed in the regular, posted schedule. Customers traveling westbound from Douglas to bus shuttles will not need to TAP. Those who are traveling eastbound from bus shuttles to Douglas will need to TAP at the fare gates.

We know some may be inconvenienced by this weekend’s work, and Metro would like to thank you for your understanding as the work is essential to Metro’s overall plan to improve rail service.
