UPDATED, 6:40 p.m. Friday: Gold Line customers should continue to expect delays of 20 to 30 minutes going into Friday night, as work on the overhead wires in South Pasadena continues. Supplemental bus shuttle service from Union Station to Pasadena will stop at 7 p.m. this evening.
UPDATED, 2:30 p.m. Friday:
Unfortunately, delays on the Gold Line continue on Friday afternoon due to ongoing repairs of the overhead wires in South Pasadena that suffered damage on Wednesday night.
For the Friday afternoon commute:
•Gold Line trains will continue to single track between Southwest Museum and Del Mar with three car trains running every 20 to 30 minutes. The single tracking is needed to accommodate work on the wires on the southbound tracks.
•Some southbound Gold Line trains will continue to turn back at Fillmore and some northbound trains are turning back at Union Station to relieve train congestion on the Gold Line.
•Supplemental rush hour bus service to provide more capacity will run outbound only from Union Station to Fillmore, Del Mar, Memorial Park, Lake, Allen and Sierra Madre Villa. The buses are loading on the Alameda Street side of Union Station at the location where Dodger Stadium Express buses usually take on passengers.
If possible, consider taking the bus, driving and carpooling or bicycling. For those commuting to the Highland Park area, alternative bus options include Metro Bus 81 and 83. Both bus lines travel through Highland Park to Downtown L.A. Customers headed to Lake Station from DTLA may consider Metro Express 485. Customers going to Sierra Madre Villa from DTLA may consider using the Metro Express 487.
Metro would again like to thank everyone for their patience as we work to make repairs as quickly and safely as possible. For those who need delay verification because of this morning’s Gold Line delays, please call 213.922.6235 or email CustomerRelations@metro.net.
