Saturday

Those headed to the Artisanal LA Spring Show this weekend — remember, Metro is the best way to get there! Just hop on the Blue Line. There are also several Metro buses that run in the Fashion District of downtown Los Angeles. Plus, when you show your TAP card you’ll get a free, collectable tote bag! (Metro Bus 40, 45, 745 to Broadway/Washington or Metro Blue Line to Grand/LATTC Station)

The Do Good Bus is all about bringing people together to help make a difference in their communities. If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, meet other like-minded folks at 9 a.m. in the Universal City Station parking lot. The April Community Ride destination is a secret, but volunteers will be doing good deeds and having fun all day!  Sign up to become a volunteer for $45. Box lunches will be provided by Whole Foods. (Metro Red Line to Universal City/Studio City Station)

And of course, don’t forget about The Green Prize Festival in Long Beach!

Sunday

Every day can be Earth Day if you want it to be! Join San Fernando Valley residents as they celebrate going green and pledge to use alternative transportation for an entire day during Car Free SFV. Whether you choose to walk, bike, carpool or take public transportation, see how easy it can be to minimize traffic congestion by participating in an Earth Day Family Bike Ride, scavenger hunt and other free community events along the Los Angeles River. (Metro 150/240 to Ventura/Dixie Canyon and walk 7 minutes east on Ventura Blvd. and left on Fulton, or DASH Van Nuys/Studio City to Moorpark/Fulton.)

All Weekend

The Los Angeles Jazz Festival and Dysonna City Art Gallery are coming together for the 3rd Annual Jazz & Arts Festival to benefit jazz educational programs.  All weekend, enjoy jazz inspired desserts, Hors d’ oeuvres and music from local jazz bands. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $10, but the $25 admission is the one that includes food and beverages.  (Metro Bus 20 or DASH Fairfax to Wilshire/Cochran)

Make the Jackalope Art & Craft Fair your shopping destination with over 200 local artists, crafters and designers located in Pasedena’s Central Park. (If your favorite television shows are ALL on HGTV, this is the event for you!) The event is free and  kicks off this weekend with one-of-a-kind ceramics, home goods, jewelry designs and more for sell. Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. both days. Be one of the first 50 people to show your TAP card at the Jackalope Booth and receive a free tote bag! (Metro Gold Line to Del Mar Station)
