Happy Earth Day Source Readers!
If planting a tree is your usual Earth Day contribution, take it a step further this year and Go Metro to The Green Prize Festival Saturday, April 25 !
Green Education, Inc. has organized the day-long festival, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., to be held at Cesar E Chavez Park in Long Beach. Enjoy local chefs, urban farmers and environmental organizations as they showcase their green achievements through various workshops and demonstrations.
Green vendors, food trucks and children’s activities are included in the line up, plus a free bike valet for those commuting by bike. A Green Prize Award Ceremony will later honor individuals, schools, farmers and government agencies recognized for their excellence in sustainability within the city of Long Beach.
Taking public transportation this weekend won’t just help you go green. It will also get you an exclusive discount when purchasing food with green food vendors. Show your valid TAP card at Steamed Organic Vegetarian Cuisine in the Eco-Friendly Marketplace and save $1 on your purchase!
To get to the free festival, take the Metro Blue Line to Pacific Avenue Station and walk right on 4th Street towards Cesar E Chavez Park.
