Go Metro to celebrate the Mexica New Year this Saturday at Mariachi Plaza

We know you’re probably thinking every New Year celebration is equipped with ceremonies, dancing and singing. And you’re absolutely right, except the Mexica New Year Los Angeles Festival is offering so much more!

Have you ever wanted to know your cosmic identity? Are you a rabbit, crocodile or jaguar? Learn all about Aztec symbolism and enjoy educational workshops, cultural vendors and great food this Saturday in Boyle Heights! Plus, there will be an impressive musical lineup of mixed genres and a special Danza Azteca ceremony by Xipe Totec. The festival is free and open to all ages.

Let Metro take you to the fun. Festivities kick off at 6 a.m. and continue until 10 p.m. at the corner of Boyle Avenue and 1st Street, directly across from the Metro Gold Line Mariachi Plaza Station. Show your valid TAP card at the Un Solo Sol Kitchen (east of Mariachi Station) for a 10% discount on your purchase!

Happy Mexica New Year!
