Preview of March Metro Service Council meetings

All five Service Councils will be holding their March meetings at their usual times, dates and locations. As mentioned in last month’s article, this will be the last meeting for the Westside/Central Service Council in Beverly Hills before moving their meetings to the Metro headquarters, which is adjacent to Union Station in downtown Los Angeles.

Last month’s Service Council Preview also explained that the Gateway Cities Service Council is considering a location and time change, and welcomes the public input on a new meeting location. That Service Council currently meets at Salt Lake Park in Huntington Park on the second Thursday of the month beginning at 2 p.m.  They believe that meeting at a later time might make it easier for the public to participate in their meetings.

Please click here to read an article posted on The Source about potential locations, and to provide your input on when and where you think the meeting should be. A suggestion was received to hold the meetings at the Rancho Los Amigos Rehabilitation Center, but that idea has been ruled out due to limited transit access and the lack of rooms in the early evening.

The San Fernando Valley Service Council will kick off this month’s slate of meetings, convening this Wednesday (March 4). All Councils will receive presentations on Metro’s restructured Parking Ordinance. Councils will also receive the monthly Director’s report, which provides statistics on ridership, performance and other measures of Metro service.
