If you plan on riding the Metro Expo Line this Wednesday, Feb. 25, please be aware that after 8:30 p.m., trains will run every 30 minutes due to track maintenance. At Expo/Western, Expo/Vermont, Expo Park/USC and Jefferson/USC Station, all trains in both directions will use the Culver City-bound platform.
Departure times from 7th Street/Metro Center and Culver City Station are as follows:
Culver City-bound trains depart 7th St/Metro Center at approximately: 8:10pm, 8:30, 9, 9:30, 10, 10:30, 11, 11:30, 12am, and 12:31am.
Downtown L.A.-bound trains depart Culver City Station at approximately: 8:38pm, 8:48, 9:18, 9:48, 10:18, 10:48, 11:18, 11:48, 12:18am, 12:48am and 1:06am.
Please note that the times above may be subject to work-related delays. Please follow or tweet us at @metrolosangeles for the most up-to-date information.
A good alternate route for some customers tonight may be the Metro Rapid 733 or Local bus 33, which run between Downtown L.A. and the West Side via Venice Boulevard. In addition, those transferring between the Expo and Blue Lines at 7th Street/Metro Center should keep in mind that the Metro Blue Line will be running every 20 minutes tonight after 8:30 p.m., for separate maintenance.
If you’re wondering what kind of track maintenance could require such long waits between trains, the work this Wednesday evening is occurring directly on an Expo Line switch point, or crossover. This means trains traveling in both directions must take turns sharing a significantly larger segment of track than they would during routine maintenance, where work is performed between two adjacent crossovers.
Finally, to all those whose trips may be affected tonight: thank you for your understanding. Though inconvenient, this evening’s track work is essential to the continued reliability, and above all, safety of the Expo Line.
