Celebrate Black History Month with free art tour along Expo Line

To celebrate Black History Month, a special Metro Art Tour will showcase artworks by important African American artists along the Expo Line on Saturday, Feb. 28. The free tour will include visits to Michael Massenburg’s All in a Day at Farmdale Station and Willie Middlebrook’s Wanderers at Expo/Crenshaw Station from the perspective of renowned artist June Edmonds, whose artwork is also part of Metro’s art collection at Pacific Avenue Station in Long Beach.

The tour will begin at 10 a.m. at La Cienega/Jefferson Station. Participants should meet at street level. The tour will end around noon at Expo Park/USC Station, where you can continue exploring art at the California African American Museum in Exposition Park.

If the tour leaves you hungry, stop by The Lab Gastropub for lunch! Show your TAP card to receive 10% off your bill.

The tour is approximately 90% walking. There are elevators at all Expo Line stations.
