Los Angeles – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will re-construct curbs at various locations throughout Los Angeles County. Construction activities will take place daily, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through late spring. Some night work may be required. The following is a list of scheduled closures. This schedule is subject to change:
Tuesday, January 20 through Friday, January 23
Eastbound San Bernardino Freeway (I-10)
· Baldwin Avenue on-ramp
· Peck Road off-ramp
· Dudley Street on- and off-ramp
· White Avenue off-ramp
· Orange Grove Avenue on-ramp
This project will retrofit and construct curb ramps throughout the Los Angeles area thereby improving efficiency and pedestrian accessibility. These upgrades will improve safety and meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990. Motorists, local businesses and residents may experience noise and vibration from construction activities. Detours signs will be posted as necessary. Expect traffic delays, plan ahead and leave early.
The contractor for this $800,000 project is STL Landscape Inc of Compton, California. Caltrans advises motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert.”
