Patsaouras Transit Plaza will be closed beginning this Saturday night, Jan 17 at 10 p.m. through Sunday morning, Jan 18 at 6:30 a.m. for asphalt repair.
During this time, no vehicles or pedestrians will have access to the plaza. Buses that normally stop in the plaza will use the intersection of Cesar Chavez Avenue and Vignes Street to board and drop off customers.
The Flyaway bus to LAX Airport will be relocated to the west side of Union Station near Alameda Street by the taxi stand. Megabus will also be available at the west side of Union Station in the Amtrak bus area.
Security personnel will be on site throughout the closure for customer assistance.

Signs like this will be posted in Union Station’s East Portal as well as the Plaza itself to advise customers of the closure.

When on the Silver Line I notice some type of work going on around the Plaza. Is metro enlarging the Plaza?
Hi Warren,
No, the work was to repair asphalt in the plaza.

A map/graphic is always very helpful … either on this notice or at the Plaza. I had to pick-up a relative at the Fly Away this weekend, @ 1 am in the rain. If anything would have been different that would have resulted in a lot of confusion.
Asphalt repair, it’s mostly brick and it seems the Plaza was closed not that long ago for repairs.
