Update: Westbound 10 freeway reopens; Silver Line and 487 are back on regular WB routes

The latest updates from Caltrans District 7: 

Regular routes for the Silver Line and the 487 will resume once the 10 fully reopens.

There was a big rig fire earlier on the 10 freeway and Eastern Avenue in Monterey Park. The eastbound lanes have reopened but the westbound lanes are closed.

Westbound Silver Line buses and the westbound 487 Bus — which use the 10 freeway — are currently using Valley Boulevard between El Monte Station and the 710 freeway.

An alternate transit route between downtown L.A. and El Monte Station is the Metro 770 Bus, which uses Cesar Chavez Avenue, Atlantic Avenue, Garvey Avenue and Santa Anita Avenue. The 770 includes a stop at Cesar Chavez and Vignes, which is adjacent to Union Station. This stop can be accessed from the Patsaouras Transit Plaza side of Union Station.
