December 22nd is the last day to suggest additional bikeshare locations

Metro is leading a countywide effort to develop a user-friendly bikeshare system that will increase transportation choices for people making short trips and traveling to and from transit stations. The program will provide a fleet of bicycles that can be borrowed for short periods from strategically placed bikeshare stations throughout the county. Previously a list of pilot  bikeshare stations in downtown Los Angeles, Long Beach and Pasadena was developed using community input received through an interactive crowd sourcing map.

Earlier this month Metro’s Bikeshare Implementation Plan team announced it was taking additional public suggestions for bike share locations throughout the county. Metro has received a tremendous response thus far with suggested locations identified from Arleta to Pomona. The top five most suggested locations thus far are:

Koreatown 8.9%

Westwood 6.9%

West Hollywood 6.9%

Hollywood 4.0%

North Hollywood 3.0%

The opportunity to suggest locations isn’t over yet but is fast approaching. So, if you haven’t already, visit Metro’s interactive map by December 22nd to make your station suggestions.

  1. What I didn’t like about this version, vs the last one, one the previous one people could see the suggestions of others and ‘like’ them. To see where the locations previously suggested are were helpful. This version seemed also seemed much slower to load and slower to interact with.

  2. Reseda Do not forget about the SF Valley- other than NoHo. Reseda Blvd is an Orange line stop, bike path street and major street to CSUN, stores, residential areasm etc. And would benefit from this program.
