The city of Los Angeles’ Economic and Workforce Development Department recently released a video of the excavation and decking work being done at the future Crenshaw/Expo underground station for the Crenshaw/LAX Line. Check out theabove video.

Construction of the 8.5-mile Crenshaw/LAX Line began earlier this year with completion currently forecast for 2019. The project is largely funded by Measure R, the half-cent sales tax increase approved by Los Angeles County voters in 2008.

The new line will run between the Expo Line in the north and the Green Line in the south. In addition to serving Crenshaw Boulevard, the project will include two stations near Los Angeles International Airport, including a station at Aviation/96th where riders will be able to transfer to an Automated People Mover that will provide a quick ride to airport terminals.

  1. Will this station have a mezzanine? Where will the fare location boxes be located?
