Metro will conduct required testing of the lights in Patsaouras Plaza this evening between 7 p.m. and midnight. This means that twice within the five-hour time window, Patsaouras Plaza will go dark for approximately 7 to 10 seconds.
Lights in the Union Station parking structure will also undergo testing between 7 p.m. and midnight tonight. Emergency lighting will run the entire time, but customers using the parking structure should expect it to be slightly dimmer than usual.
Additional security personnel will be on hand in the parking structure and plaza tonight during the test. If you happen to be in Patsaouras Plaza this evening when the lights go out–don’t panic. The testing is a standard procedure and lighting will return shortly.
Signs will also be posted around the plaza to keep customers informed.

Just out of curiosity, will a PA announcement be made just prior to each test? Or are there no PA systems in these areas?
Never mind: Got my dates confused. This already happened. 🙂
