Who wants to count calories on Thanksgiving? Start your Turkey Day by running, walking or wobbling at Turkey Trot L.A. and forget about the excess food you have eaten or will eat!

The event, now in its second year in downtown Los Angeles, will be held on the morning of Thursday, November 27 (Thanksgiving Day). Registration begins 7 a.m. and races start at 8 a.m. Route options include a 5k, 10k and a 1k for kids. Turkey Day themed costumes are encouraged and, like last year, the event will be followed by a family friendly Thanksgiving festival.

The event hub is located across from City Hall in Grand Park, an easy ride on the Metro Red or Purple Line to the Civic Center / Grand Park Station.

Registration fees for the event start at $50 for adults the day of the event, but Metro riders can save 10 percent by showing their valid TAP card at the registration table. The discount — along with pre-registration reduced rates — is also available for riders who register online. More details are available here.
