The above photos show some of the work being done on Crenshaw Boulevard this weekend between Exposition and Rodeo Place to excavate the underground Expo/Crenshaw Station for the Crenshaw/LAX Line.
Please see this earlier post about the ongoing 30-day closure for the excavation work and bus detours in effect during the closures. And thank you to local businesses and motorists for your patience! This work will allow decking to be installed on the road, which will allow it to reopen while construction continues underground.

At the Crenshaw Line’s underground stations, will the fare collection boxes be located at street level as is planned for the Regional Connector’s underground stations? Or, will they be located in the mezzanine level as is the case in the Gold Line Extension’s Soto and Mariachi underground stations?
