Here’s the press release from Caltrans:
LONG BEACH- The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will demolish and reconstruct a damaged portion of the Temple Avenue Bridge. This will temporarily close the southbound I-405 on-ramp from eastbound Spring Street for the duration of this bridge rehabilitation construction work. Detours will be posted. Closures are as follows and subject to change.
Monday, November 3, through Thursday, November 6
Southbound I-405
- 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Cherry Avenue to Lakewood Boulevard
- FULL FREEWAY CLOSURE begins at 12 a.m. and ends at 5 a.m.

Northbound I-405
- 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Lakewood Boulevard to Cherry Avenue
- FULL FREEWAY CLOSURE begins at 12 a.m. and ends at 4 a.m.
Local businesses will remain open throughout the duration of construction.
The contractor on this $2.5 million project is DW Powell Construction Inc. of Fontana, California. The project is funded through the State Highway and Operations Protection Program (SHOPP).
Caltrans advises motorists to “Slow For The Cone Zone.”

The Spring Street on-ramp and the Temple left turn exit have been closed for over a year! When is this project supposed to be completed? It’s affecting my business. Any info?
