Celebrate your day of relaxation with a bunch of funk in the air (the good kind of course). The Queen Mary plays hostess to the sixth annual Long Beach Funk Fest on Labor Day Monday. The festival starts at 1 p.m with pre-sale tickets starting at $15 ($20 at the door).

Some of funk and P-Funk’s biggest names will be in the house with headliners George Clinton and Parliment-Funkadelic! Dam-Funk and The Meters’ Leo Nocentelli will also be gracing the stage along with a conclave of Southern California’s top P-Funk DJs.

Valid TAP card holders can save $5 on general admission by using the exclusive Metro promo code when purchasing tickets online. Make sure to have your TAP card handy at the festival too–show it at the Funk Fest merchandise booth and receive 10% off your purchase.

To get to the Queen Mary, take the Metro Blue Line to Downtown Long Beach Station, then walk to the corner of Pine Avenue and Ocean Boulevard and board the free Passport Shuttle which will take you directly to the Queen Mary.

  1. Hay, the Blue Line is closed at the Long Beach Loop. People need to take the free bus bridge to get Pine & First.
