Looking for something to do in DTLA? Check out Friday Night Flicks at Pershing Square! This Friday presents Captain America: The First Avenger. The free event will show a different movie on a 20-foot inflatable screen every Friday from now through September 26! Movie starts at 8 p.m. (Metro Red/Purple Line to Pershing Square Station)

Looking to switch up the usual date night? Want to make new friends? Look no further than the Salsa Bachata Social hosted by the Blackbird Dance Company! Each Friday, special guest teachers come to liven up the dance floor with DJs spinning tracks from 9:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. Show your TAP card and save $1 on admission! Craving some good ole ‘cue? Head down to Long Beach for the West Coast BBQ Classic. The food fest takes place at the Queen Mary Events Park–there will be plenty of world championship winning BBQ and fun for the whole family. Tickets are $10 online and includes access to the Queen Mary. Festivities start at 11 a.m. (Metro Blue Line to Downtown Long Beach Station, then catch free Passport shuttle to the Queen Mary)

Catch KIIS-FM’s annual Wango Tango concert at the StubHub Center. This year’s lineup includes Maroon 5, Calvin Harris, B.O.B, Paramore and more. Concert kicks off at 2:30 p.m and tickets are still on sale online. (Metro Bus 246 to Avalon/Victoria then walk southwest a block to the stadium)


What better way to celebrate Mother’s Day than to take her on a food and wine tour! Skip the candy and flowers and check out Six Taste: Mothers’ Day Arts District Walking Food Tour. Tour the Arts District’s best restaurants and wineries with your favorite person in the world. Tickets are still on sale and the tour starts at 2:30 p.m. (Metro Gold Line to Little Tokyo/Arts District)

The Hola Mexico Festival  is taking place from Friday, May 9 to Sunday, May 18. Taking place at two separate venues, the festival is showing films at Regal Cinemas at L.A Live and at La Plaza de Cultura y Artes right next to Olvera Street. Come out to enjoy the best in Mexican film, food and entertainment and save $1 on movie admission with your TAP card. (For Regal Cinemas, take the Metro Blue Line to Pico Station; for La Plaza de Cultura y Artes, take the Metro Red/Purple or Gold Line to Union Station and walk across Alameda Street to El Pueblo Historical Monument)
