Today is Pi Day, and it’s a wonderful day to discuss the number’s significance and compete to see who can recall the highest number of decimal places. (I get to 3.14159 and I’m good.) It’s also a great excuse to eat some pie. Here are a few recommendations from our Twitter followers for good pie places. And tell us your favorite places to get pie!
@metrolosangeles Take the Gold line to Little Tokyo. It’s a short walk to The Pie Hole on Traction Avenue http://t.co/ad5Ucf09AE

And Urth Caffe is in that area too, and they have pretty good pies.
@metrolosangeles @maisonorion I love their earl grey pie. — Jeremy Brunson (@jeremybrunson) March 14, 2014
But now I want earl grey pie!

Sounds like a country made of pie. I like it!
@metrolosangeles But, really, Phillippe in Chinatown (Gold-Ctown, Red-Union) has good stuff. Pecans included.

I honestly did not know Phillippe’s sold pie! Very excited about this.
By the way, there’s also House of Pies in Los Feliz. You can get there via Metro Bus 180 to Franklin/Vermont, or walk north on Vermont Avenue from the Vermont/Sunset Red Line Station.

Being that today is my B-Day I’ll be having me a nice sweat cherry pie tonight.
Bronzed Aussie at 7th & Los Angeles in downtown has delicious Australian-style savory meat pies!
Australian-style pies! This, I need to go check out.

The French Dips are great… Though I personally prefer Cole’s. Which also has some good dessert pie and isn’t far from Pershing Square.
Cole’s also has the added benefit of a Metro discount! (I also like the pickled eggs in the Red Car.)

Pie & Burger in Pasadena is served by Metro lines 177, 485, & with a little walk 267. It is also served by Pasadena ARTS line 20.

Did not know about the pies at Phillippe The Original!? Seriously some of the best. Chocolate cream pie…
Pie Hole has both sweet and savory, so it’s not just for dessert.
Steven,
I’m vegetarian so I haven’t had much reason to wander over there. I hear those French dips are tasty though! 🙂
