Worker killed in early morning collision with Metro bus

Here is the information from Metro:

At 3:22 a.m. today [Tuesday], there was a collision between a westbound Metro Bus on Venice Boulevard and a construction cherry picker at Venice Boulevard and Wright Street. The collision caused the lift operator in the cherry picker to fall to the ground. The construction worker was transported to California Hospital with severe head trauma and died as a result of his injuries at 7:11 a.m. The worker was 56 years old. The incident is currently under investigation by Metro and law enforcement. The bus operator is on paid leave while the incident is being investigated.
