This weekend, let Metro take you beyond your weekday commute to fun, informative, and inspiring events across the city.

Friday

Kick off the weekend with great music at Amoeba Records this Friday. Guest DJ JUN will be spinning vinyl for free starting at 8 p.m. Browse or shop to your heart’s content and save $3 off any purchase over $5 with your TAP card. (Metro Red Line to Hollywood/Vine, Metro Rapid 780 to Hollywood/Vine, Metro Bus 2/302 to Sunset/Ivar.)

Saturday

Join C.I.C.L.E.’s Tweed, Moxie, and Mustaches free group bike ride on Saturday and enjoy 10% off your bill at Cafe de Leche – the ride’s final stop – with your TAP card. Gather at the Gold Line Highland Park Station at 10:30 a.m. for an 11 a.m. departure. The route is less than 10 miles. Sunday

Celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Nelson Mandela on Sunday from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the California African American Museum. Pillars of Peace, From Jail to Justice, will include screenings of Dr. King’s speeches as well as Mandela’s speech made during his appearance at the L.A. Coliseum in 1990. The program will also include music, dance, and theater. (Metro Expo Line to Expo Park/USC Station or Metro Bus 81, 200, 442, or 550 to Figueroa/State.)

All Weekend

The 16th Annual Los Angeles Times Travel Show takes place Saturday – Sunday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. each day. Tickets are $10 per day, but you can save $3 by showing your valid TAP card at the box office. (Metro Blue/Expo Line to Pico Station or Metro Silver Line, Metro Bus 81, or 460 to L.A. Convention Center.)

The L.A. Art Show is also at the Convention Center Friday – Saturday from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Save $10 on one-day admission with your TAP card – that’s a 75% discount! In addition, a free shuttle will be transporting visitors between the Convention Center and LA Mart, where photo l.a., the 23rd Annual International Los Angeles Photographic Art Exposition, is taking place.

The Kirk Douglas Theatre presents “I’ll Go On” by the Center Theatre Group with various showings Friday – Sunday. Based on three novels by famed existentialist Samuel Beckett, the play makes its debut in Los Angeles after more than 25 years. Metro riders can save 10% on tickets with valid TAP card.
