Witness living history at Campo de Cahuenga on Sunday, Jan 12

The station art at Universal City Station depicts some of the history that took place at Campo de Cahuenga.

Campo de Cahuenga will hold their annual reenactment of the signing of the Articles of Capitulation on Sunday, January 12. The event will start at 1 p.m. and is free for all to attend.

Activities will include:

  • Fiesta Dancers
  • Living History Military Encampment – tents and military personnel will be on site from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM
  • Firing of the Howitzer Cannon
  • Self Tour of the Archeological Dig
  • Memorial Wreath Presentation
  • 12 Flags Over California
  • Campo Tacos

To get to Campo de Cahuenga, take the Metro Red Line to Universal City/Studio City Station.

  1. Not to be picky and certainly no big deal, but, just a note to say that a howitzer is a type of artillery piece most commonly referred to simply as a “howitzer.”

    “Howitzer cannon” is redundant and is similar to saying “helicopter aircraft.”
