Los Angeles Union Station’s Patsaouras Plaza will be closed for asphalt repaving starting 4 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21. The closure will continue until approximately 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22 or until barricades are removed.
Buses and other vehicles will not be allowed in or out of Patsaouras Plaza during this time. Pedestrian access will be available. All Metro and Metrolink rail service will run normal operations and schedule.
The following bus stop relocations will be in effect during the plaza closure:
- Lines 33 (Owl), 40, 704, 733 and 745: board buses at Cesar Chavez Avenue and Vignes Street.
- MegaBus.com and LAX FlyAway: board on Vignes Street between Cesar Chavez Avenue and the Patsaouras Plaza entrance driveway. Purchase tickets for FlyAway service at the same location.

I take the bus
Wait. Does this mean the beautiful brickwork will be replaced with soulless asphalt? I’d prefer to see a redoubled effort to maintain and repair the existing brick surface. Instead Metro should focus on repairing the missing chunks of concrete and other tripping hazards in the Amtrak bus bay area.
