Celebrate Dia de los Muertos with Metro

El Pueblo Historical Monument, Oct. 25 – Nov. 3
Starting Friday, Oct. 25, El Pueblo will begin free festivities with food, live entertainment, altars and family activities. Experience nightly Novenarios, a pre-Columbian procession and blessing on Olvera Street, and don’t miss the exhibit in the historic Pico House that examines the celebration of Dia de los Muertos. Go Metro and save 15% on purchases at El Pueblo’s visitor center in the Avila Adobe. (El Pueblo is located across Alameda Street from Union Station, or take Metro Rapid 728 to Spring/Cesar Chavez)

LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes, Oct. 27 & Nov. 2
Free events take place on Sunday, Oct. 27 and on Saturday, Nov. 2. Participate in altar installation, watch theatrical performances and more. Show your valid TAP card at the admissions desk between 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on either day and receive a bilingual tamale recipe book while supplies last. On Nov. 2, present your TAP card at La Tienda between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. and save 20% on purchases. Dia de los Muertos at East L.A. Civic Center, Nov. 2
On Sunday, Nov. 2 visit East L.A. Civic Center for fun, free family activities and cultural celebrations. There will be live music, dancing and a colorful marketplace from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Present your TAP card at the East L.A. Chamber of Commerce booth to receive a free coupon booklet while supplies last. (Metro Gold Line to East L.A. Civic Center Station, Metro Bus 258 to Mednik/3rd)

Grand Park’s Downtown Dia de los Muertos, Nov. 2
On Sunday, Nov. 2 celebrate at Grand Park with food trucks, free face painting, awesome bands and more. Bike parking will also be available. Show your TAP card at the Grand Park info tent and receive a free stem of marigolds while supplies last. (Metro Red/Purple Line to Civic Center/Grand Park Station)
