The Metro Experience, a mobile theatre, will be screening community videos.

Taste of Soul, one of L.A.’s largest street festivals, takes place on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Running down Crenshaw Boulevard between Stocker and Rodeo Road, visitors can sample great food from local restaurants, enjoy live entertainment and check out displays by local artists.

Hop on the Expo Line to Expo/Crenshaw Station, then start walking south on Crenshaw until you come across a huge crowd of people. It will take you less than five minutes.

Metro will have a booth at the Crenshaw/Rodeo intersection to provide information about the Crenshaw/LAX light-rail line project, which is preparing to begin major construction next spring. Rail safety staff will be available to talk about how to be safe around trains and tracks.

Representatives from Metro’s community partners, several labor unions and a  pre-apprenticeship training program will be available to provide information on how to enter trade unions to work on Metro capital projects that will soon start construction in the region. Information on careers at Metro, from bus operators to executive officers, will be available as well.

Adjacent to Metro’s booth will be the Metro Experience, a mobile theatre will be screening video presentations that reflect the Crenshaw and Inglewood communities.

Metro Bus 40, 102, 105, 210, 710 and 740 will be detouring for the festival. Signs in English and Spanish will be posted at bus stops regarding the temporary routes, or check Metro’s Service Advisories for the latest changes on detours.

For bicyclists, there is ample secure parking for bikes at the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza located at the intersection of Crenshaw and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Bikes are allowed on all Metro Bus and Rail.
