Go Metro to Endeavour Fest and celebrate the one-year anniversary of Space Shuttle Endeavour’s arrival at the its new home at the California Science Center’s Samuel Oschin Pavilion. Festivities take place from Friday, Oct. 11, through Sunday, Oct. 13, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day and can easily be reached via the Expo Line’s Expo Park/USC station.
The free event will feature NASA exhibits and demonstrations, astronaut talks and premiere screenings of the documentary “Three Nights, Three Days.” Endeavour Fest is also the launch of the West Coast premiere of the Red Bull Stratos Exhibit which includes the 3,000-pound capsule and space suit used by Felix Baumgartner when he became the first human to break the sound barrier during his 24-mile freefall to Earth in 2012 from a helium balloon.
While you’re at it, save big at Endeavour Fest with Metro. Just show your valid TAP card, Metro employee ID, or LA County employee ID at the box office and save $2 on adult and $1 on child to the IMAX theater. In addition, present your valid TAP card, Metro employee ID, or LA County employee ID at the register at both Science Center gift shops to save 10 percent on your purchase.
The California Science Center is located at 700 Exposition Park Drive in Los Angeles. In addition to riding the Expo Line to Expo/USC Station, festival-goers can access Expo Park from several Metro Local and Rapid bus lines. The Metro Bus 102 stops at Exposition/University or Metro Line 81 stops at Figueroa/State. For more routes and connections, use Google Transit or the Trip Planner on metro.net.
