Google Transit once again showing Metro bus and train routes

And they're back! Google Transit appears to be showing Metro bus and rail routes once again.

A technical glitch dating to last week had resulted in Metro being dropped from the popular Google Transit tool, meaning some of our riders were getting some very interesting and often out-of-the-way advice when trying to plan their transit trips.

Thanks everyone for their patience!

  1. We are almost there. While the routes work and display we are still missing the timetables.

I cross referenced NYC and their metro timetables work.

Summary: LA Metro time tables via Google Maps Android do not display when clicking on a stop within the map.

  2. Yes we can now receive route information, but the timetable information is still missing.

I checked NYC’s public routes and their timetables work from within Google Maps on Android.

Summary: Problem 50% resolved. Still need timetable information when clicking on individual routes.

  3. FWIW, it appears that 7th St/Metro Center station is the only Purple/Red line station that has no visible icon at Google Maps’ default zoom setting. As far as I can see, all the other heavy rail stations appear at the default zoom level, except 7th St/Metro Ctr. Maybe you can pass this info on to Google? 🙂
