Progress continues on the Gold Line Foothill Extension project — you can now see the station foundations in Arcadia and Monrovia, as shown above. Work can also be up seen throughout the 11.5-mile alignment between eastern Pasadena and the Azusa/Glendora border.

For those who live in the area, the Arcadia station is just behind the REI store. The Monrovia station platforms will be adjacent to the old Santa Fe Depot. A large transit-oriented develop with residences and commercial property is planned on the area around the station.

Here are some previously posted photos of construction work, including one of the foundation for the Duarte station.

The project is being built by the Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension Construction Authority with funding from Measure R. Here are construction updates from the Authority and click here to sign up for construction updates and the project’s e-newsletter via email.
