Steve Hymon will be back soon, and with him Twitter Tuesdays. In the meantime, enjoy some transit art.

This downtown bus stop bench now features the Hulk! Guess where it’s located and you’ll win Internet kudos.

The answer and more information on the bus bench art project after the jump.

This bus bench and 19 others in downtown Los Angeles and in the Boyle Heights neighborhood now feature art instead of advertising. These benches will display works by two artists: Dulce Pinzón and Jon Rafman.

This public art project is an effort by Los Angeles City Councilman José Huizar along with DoArt Foundation and Make Art Public. All the art installation will be on bus benches within the 14th City Council District. They will be on display until the benches are leased for advertising.

If you happen to spot one of these bus benches, snap a photo and Tweet it to @metrolosangeles with an #artoftransit hashtag. More Internet kudos and perhaps a feature on The Source if you get photos of all 20 benches!

Oh, and the answer to where the Hulk is located: 5th/Hill near Pershing Square.

  1. I can’t wait for another ” how do they do that” article. It has always been my favorite part of the scource blog. It is fun being able to tell friends about what I have learned while riding the trains and buses.
