Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas has submitted a motion directing Metro to amend the budget for the coming fiscal year to fund two optional stations for the Crenshaw/LAX Line at Leimert Park Village and Hindry.
Co-authors on the motion include Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Supervisor Mike Antonovich, Supervisor Don Knabe, Duarte Councilman John Fasana and Los Angeles appointee Mel Wilson.

It’s about time, they did the right thing!!
No one was against the idea of a station, just that regional equity concerns made funding additional stations problematic. Kudos to the politicos who worked to respond to community concerns. Overall a nice outcome.

So jealous. City and County leaders working to turn a bus route into a rail line, then they find money to add stations. Any of those leaders want to represent the San Fernando Valley? We could use some bus routes turned into rail lines in this part of the city.
Because the City has $55 million (plus potential overrun) to kick around…
