Expo Line construction closures in Santa Monica this week

As the Expo Phase 2 light-rail line inches forward, construction in downtown Santa Monica is ramping up. As a reminder, the City of Santa Monica has released a few more specifics on street closures for Expo Line construction, beginning this week. You know the drill: avoid the area or allow extra time. For more details go to buildexpo.com.

— Eastbound Colorado Avenue between 4th and 5th streets is now permanently closed so that the western end of the Expo line can be built on the southern half of the street there.

— At Colorado Avenue between 2nd and 9th streets and between 12th and 17th streets expect westbound and eastbound lane closures 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. and during daytime hours. There also will be reduced travel lanes on 5th Street at Colorado, at 14th Street and Colorado and at Euclid and Colorado.

— On Olympic Boulevard between 20th and Cloverfield expect westbound and eastbound delays and lane closures during non-peak travel hours, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

— And on Lincoln Boulevard between Broadway and the I-10 Freeway, expect partial street closures at the intersection of Lincoln Boulevard and Colorado Avenue, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Also expect that northbound and southbound traffic lanes will be reduced, but only at night.
