The Link – Baldwin Hills Parklands Shuttle is offering free rides for Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend (Jan 19 – 21). The Link runs a 20-minute loop from the La Cienega/Jefferson Expo Line Station to the Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook and Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The weather is supposed to be pretty nice this weekend, so take advantage of the free shuttle rides, go out and enjoy some of the best views in Los Angeles. (Metro Rapid 705 and Culver City Bus 4 also drop off near La Cienega/Jefferson)

The NHL is back, and those of you heading to the Kings’ home opener on Saturday can also hit up the outdoor ice rink at LA LIVE. The L.A. Kings Ice reopened to celebrate the end of the lock out and will stick around until February 4. The rink is open from 3 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $13 and includes skate rental. (Metro Blue or Expo Line to Pico Station, Metro Silver Line to Figueroa/12th)
