Here’s the news from Metro’s tech team about NexTrip:
Metro is currently upgrading its bus fleet management system (ATMS) on all of its fleet vehicles. Nextrip bus arrival service is temporarily affected during the transition, the Nextrip system is currently providing arrival predictions based on scheduled information (vs. real-time location information). Metro is working to complete the transition as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Many of you have noticed this problem over the past couple of days. Hopefully it will be up and running soon. In the meantime, the service is either providing no updates or proving arrival times based on the schedule.

Metro Rail Lines should be added there too: Line 801 (Blue Line), Line 802 (Red Line), Line 803 (Green Line), Line 804 (Gold Line), Line 805 (Purple Line), Line 806 (Expo Line); especially for Lines 801 and 806 for trips between 7th Street and Pico Stations, and Lines 802 and 805 for trips between Union Station and Wilshire/Vermont Stations, where the routing is the same.
Thank you for the update. This probably explains why yesterday Nextrip insisted a bus was arriving in 1 minute and then it changed to 33 minutes without ever saying “arriving”! Thankfully I only really had to wait about 5 minutes….
I saw a Nextrip sign posted, facing the street and about 6.5-7 feet from the ground. How are people supposed to really use it if they can see it?
i hope this ”upgrade” will resolve the problem of the silver line freeway stations.
